Asthma medications - theophylline derivatives
Theophylline derivatives include:
- Aminophylline (Truphylline, Phyllocontin)
- Theophylline (Aerolate III, Aerolate JR, Aerolate SR, Elixophyllin, Quibron-T, Quibron-T/SR, Respbid, Slo-bid, Slo-Phyllin, T-Phyl, Theo- Time, TheoCap, Theo-24, Theo-Dur, Theochron, Theolair, Truxophyllin, Uni-Dur, and Uniphyl)
- Dyphylline (Dilor, Dilor-400, Dylix, Lufyllin, Lufyllin-400)
Depletions
Taking theophylline and aminophylline may deplete vitamin B6.
Vitamin B6 is important for processing amino acids into important molecules in the body.
Low levels of vitamin B6 may cause any of the following symptoms:
- Depression
- Nervousness
- Seizures
- Vomiting
- Failure to grow
Severe deficiency of vitamin B6 may cause numbness or tingling sensations in feet and toes.
